Safety Representative Programme

The aim of this course is to provide attendees with the necessary skills to perform their role as Safety Representatives. FRS offers two types of Safety Representative Programmes • Construction Industry Safety Representative Programme • General Safety Representative Programme Who Should Attend: Safety Reps By law anywhere there are 20 or more people working together, the employees must delegate a fellow employee to act as a safety representative. This course is designed to give the safety rep the skills and knowledge necessary to become competent in this role. M anagers/Supervisors It would also serve as a foundation course for anybody with responsibility for health and safety on sites, but with little or no knowledge of current legislation. Anybody wishing to take a basic course in construction health and safety legislation.

•Introduction to Health & Safety and accidents in the workplace. •Function and Role of the Safety Representative, duties governed under the 20 05 Act, associated Legislation and Regulations. •Utilising Hazard, Risk and Control M easures: Risk Assessments and Safety Statements. •Identifying, Reporting and Investigating Accidents. •Safety Audits.
